New Mall@ Melrose Arch

The mall at Melrose Arch just opened. There is a 3 storey Woollies in there! Bought a whole staple of warm goodies for winter there: socks, leggings, a scarf (that's over 2 meters long!) and a beautiful bright pink and red kaftan top.

I am really glad that they opened the mall up a bit- I'm not a big fan of malls as it is, but this just makes you feel like a little bit less of a rat. Also like the curved promenade and the red accent. Designed by DHK Architects.

Autumn/ Winter Palette

These were taken a couple of weeks ago on a walk I took during my lunch time. My favourite one is the leaf lying on the pavement. The squiggles of the paving blocks makes a beautiful pattern. Wish I posted these sooner! Most of the leaves are off the trees now. They are brown (and the sky is grey... ) :)

Batmobile in Rosebank

Batmobile I saw in Rosebank the other day.

Gabrielle Raaff

A parcel (no, make that a crate!) was delivered to my office yesterday. Joy! it's our very first original artwork purchased on our last trip to Cape Town.
We visited artist Gabrielle Raaff in her studio. We got so excited, we sommer bought two paintings! (But we had to: look how well they go together!)

The Chef Bakery

Met two of my friends at this bakery in Aucklandpark. Actually, its Richmond- adjacent to Aucklandpark., but nobody knows about Richmond. Everybody knows about Aucklandpark- because that's where the SABC is, and where all our childhood TV programmes were made. Aucklandpark always featured at the end credits. Now you know.

Beautiful place and the most delicious croissants this side of the Jukskei River. So glad we made the effort. The owner is a wonderful generous baker with a wicked sense of humour. I recommend the strangled eggs on a croissant.
